Things to do in Negeri Sembilan are exactly what we are thinking about now that the Hari Raya Haji holidays are getting closer. We don\u2019t know about you, but for us, this festive break is the perfect excuse for a short road trip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Negeri Sembilan has always been one of our favourite places for a quick getaway from KL. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is far enough that it feels like a proper holiday, but close enough that you don\u2019t have to spend hours stuck in traffic or on a long bus ride.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nearby states like Selangor and Melaka often get more attention. Hence, Negeri Sembilan can often be overlooked. But, honestly, that is part of why we love it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The quieter crowd just makes it more relaxing. To us, Negeri Sembilan has a charm that stole our hearts from our very first visit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every time we come back, though, we end up finding something new. There are old palaces, peaceful parks, hidden waterfalls, and some seriously good food.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So if you are looking for things to do in Negeri Sembilan this Hari Raya Haji, here are 10 of our favourite spots. We have tried almost all of them ourselves, and we\u2019ve intentionally left out obvious places like Port Dickson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Take a Relaxing Stroll Around Seremban Lake Garden<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you want somewhere easy, peaceful, and lovely to start your trip, head to Seremban Lake Garden.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is one of the oldest parks in the state, dating back to the colonial era. It used to be part of a mining area before it was transformed into a public garden in the late 1800s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, it\u2019s a beautiful green space with large shady trees, a lake, little bridges, and walking paths. We came here early in the morning, and as soon as we stepped in, we felt calmer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can take a walk around the lake, rent a paddle boat, or just sit under the trees and enjoy the breeze. Around Hari Raya Haji, it feels especially nice because the weather is often quieter in the mornings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are travelling with family, there is also a playground and plenty of open space for kids to run around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among all the places to visit in Seremban, this is one of the easiest and most relaxing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Soar Above the Hills at Tandem Pedas Paragliding Park<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For something more exciting, try tandem paragliding at Tandem Pedas Paragliding Park.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We were honestly nervous at first. Standing on the hill and looking out at the view made our legs shake a little. But the second we took off, all of that disappeared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You fly with an experienced instructor, so you don\u2019t need to know anything beforehand. All you need is a little courage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The view from up there is incredible. You can see green fields, rolling hills, and tiny roads below. On a clear day, it feels like you can see half of Negeri Sembilan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is one of the most memorable things to do in Negeri Sembilan if you want a little adventure during the holidays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Try going in the late afternoon. The air is cooler, and the golden light makes everything look even prettier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Cool Off at Jeram Toi Waterfall<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If the weather gets too hot, Jeram Toi Waterfall is the answer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Located near Jelebu, this waterfall is hidden in a forest area and feels far away from the city. The drive there is part of the fun because the roads are lined with greenery and kampung houses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jeram Toi has several levels. The lower part is easy to reach and perfect if you just want to dip your feet in the water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you don\u2019t mind climbing a little, you can head higher up. There are more pools and quieter spots where you can relax.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We packed some snacks, sat by the water, and stayed much longer than we planned. The sound of the waterfall and the cool air made it hard to leave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For anyone searching for a place of interest in Negeri Sembilan that feels peaceful and refreshing, this is a great choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Grab a Fresh, Flaky Siew Pau at Kee Mei Siew Pau<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

No trip is complete without food, and one of our favourite things to do in Negeri Sembilan is stopping for siew pau at Kee Mei Siew Pau<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seremban is famous for siew pau, but Kee Mei is one of the oldest and most well-known places to try it. They have been making these baked buns for decades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The moment you walk in, you can smell the buttery pastry and savoury filling. It is impossible not to buy more than you planned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The classic char siew version is the best place to start. The pastry is flaky and slightly crisp, while the filling is sweet and savoury.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also loved watching trays of fresh siew pau coming out of the oven throughout the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are bringing food home after your Hari Raya Haji trip, this is probably the best souvenir you can get.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Climb the Steps to the Centipede Temple<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Centipede Temple is one of the strangest and most interesting places we have visited in Negeri Sembilan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Officially known as Then Sze Koon Temple, it sits on a hill in Seremban. The nickname comes from a huge centipede statue that winds up the staircase leading to the temple.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The story goes that the temple was built after a giant centipede was seen hovering near a rock in the area many years ago. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s believed that the centipede is the reincarnation of a mother who came to visit her ungrateful son, whom the Gods had angrily turned into a rock. Since then, the centipede has become part of the temple’s identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Climbing the stairs is part of the fun. Along the way, you pass colourful statues, lanterns, and little shrines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the top, you get a lovely view over Seremban. It is especially beautiful in the late afternoon when the sky starts turning orange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are looking for a Negeri Sembilan attraction that feels a little unusual, this one definitely stands out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. Explore the Caves at Gua Batu Maloi<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For something that feels almost like a mini adventure movie, head to Gua Batu Maloi<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This cave system is located near Johol and is famous for its limestone hills, underground passages, and streams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The experience here is very different from a normal cave visit. In some parts, you have to walk through shallow water. In others, you squeeze through narrow openings between the rocks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do not worry, though: it is still suitable for beginners as long as you are reasonably fit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We loved how mysterious it felt. Sunlight comes through little gaps in the rocks, and the whole place feels quiet and hidden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bring proper shoes because the rocks can be slippery. Also, do not wear anything you mind getting wet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Out of all the things to do in Negeri Sembilan, this is one of the most unique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7. Go Back in Time at Sri Menanti Palace<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you love history, make sure Sri Menanti Palace is on your list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This beautiful wooden palace was once the royal residence of the Negeri Sembilan rulers. It was built in the early 1900s and is famous because it was constructed without using a single nail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yes, really. The entire palace was built using traditional wooden joinery techniques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The building itself is stunning. It has tall carved pillars, elegant staircases, and the distinctive Minangkabau roof that looks a little like buffalo horns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, the palace is a museum. Inside, you can learn about the royal family, local traditions, and the history of Negeri Sembilan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For us, this was one of the most interesting places to visit in Negeri Sembilan because it gives you a much deeper understanding of the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

8. Hike Up Gunung Datuk for an Incredible Sunrise<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you don\u2019t mind waking up early, we totally recommend a hike up Gunung Datuk. This mountain is one of the most popular hikes in Negeri Sembilan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The trail is challenging enough to feel rewarding, but still manageable for most people. However, if you are new to hiking, we would recommend going with someone experienced or hiring a guide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hike usually takes around two to three hours, depending on your pace. Some parts are steep, especially near the top, so bring plenty of water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The best reason to do it is the view. When you reach the summit, you get an amazing panorama of hills and forests stretching into the distance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We started before sunrise and reached the top just as the sky began changing colour. It was one of those moments where everyone suddenly went quiet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among all the things to do in Negeri Sembilan, this is probably our favourite if you enjoy nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

9. Learn About Local Culture at Lembaga Muzium Negeri Sembilan<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

One of the easiest ways to understand a place is by learning about its history and culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That is exactly why we enjoyed visiting Lembaga Muzium Negeri Sembilan<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The museum has exhibits about traditional clothing, old weapons, local crafts, and the Minangkabau heritage that makes Negeri Sembilan so unique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We especially liked learning about Adat Perpatih. This is the traditional system followed in Negeri Sembilan, where family property is passed down through the women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is something quite special and different from the rest of Malaysia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are interested in local stories and traditions, this is one Negeri Sembilan attraction that deserves more attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

10. Admire the Beautiful Architecture of Masjid Sri Sendayan<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Masjid Sri Sendayan is one of the most beautiful mosques we have seen in Malaysia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The mosque is huge, with grand domes, elegant arches, and a design inspired by famous Middle Eastern mosques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When we first saw it, we honestly had to stop for a few minutes just to take it all in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inside, the mosque is just as impressive. The prayer hall is spacious and peaceful, with beautiful details everywhere you look.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During Hari Raya Haji, the atmosphere here feels even more special. Many families come to pray, spend time together, and enjoy the festive spirit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even if you are not Muslim, it is still worth visiting respectfully to admire the architecture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the things to do in Negeri Sembilan, this is easily one of the most impressive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Final Thoughts: Why Negeri Sembilan Is Perfect for Hari Raya Haji<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Hari Raya Haji holidays always seem to pass by too quickly. That is why we love going somewhere close, easy, and fun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Negeri Sembilan is perfect for that. You can spend the morning hiking, the afternoon eating siew pau, and the evening watching the sunset from a temple hill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is such a nice mix of nature, history, food, and culture here. Best of all, it still feels less crowded than many other popular destinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
